We have mapped our strategy for Sustainability to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Environmental: We are reducing our carbon footprint by:
- Consolidating stock and reducing the number of vans on the road, making our operations greener and more efficient. All our vans comply with the latest CO2 emissions and are changed regularly. We have added electric and hybrid vehicles to our fleet to further reduce pollution.
- Managing our waste; reducing packaging including the use of plastic.
- Refurbishing and recycling wherever possible.
- Our CloudStockIMS® stock management system helps reduce deliveries/waste: identifies areas for improvement for GGL and our customers.
Social: Our CloudStockIMS® stock management system simplifies processes, paperwork and working practices and leaves our staff and those of customers who have the system more time to focus on more meaningful and productive work.
- We value and actively support charities and local community initiatives. In addition to supporting our regular charities we have supported individual initiatives, such as helping 100 children from Edinburgh go to the London Olympics.
- Quality and continual improvement are key objectives of Guthrie Group.
- We operate an open management structure, and every colleague is actively encouraged to contribute ideas to improve working conditions and practices.
- We hold British Retail Consortium Global Standard in Storage & Distribution AA+ and ISO 9001:2015. Both accreditations are externally audited annually by British Standards Institute.
